Here you can find some excellent spots to grab a bevvy, in whatever persuasion you’d like them!
Since we are west-enders, nearly all of these spots sit west of Spadina, sorry about that!
Downtown
Ace Hotel
The Cameron House
Toronto has a small but thriving jazz scene. And you can see some really cool live acts at this and the next two bars. The Cameron House is cash only, and the cozy size makes for intimate live music sets.
Drom Taberna
The most fun bar, objectively. Balkan funk jazz! Always a party and you never need to overthink things!
La Palette
Koreatown
Paradise Grapevine
- Judy’s favourite bar! Always amazing music, exquisite wine list, pretty back patio, bread and cheese. They also started making their own natural wine a couple years ago and they’re so fun to drink.
Civil Liberties
- At this bar, you don’t order off a menu, you tell the bartender what vibe you’re going for or what ingredient you’re craving, and they make a custom original cocktail for you. So glam, so fun.
West Queen West
Bar Poet
Bar Piquette
- This beautiful and earnest wine bar is ripe for intimate chill nights with close friends, where the conversations go on for hours and you forget about your phone. It’s where you’d want to go for a lowkey but bona fide celebration.
Poetry Jazz Cafe
- A legendary bar that features live acts nightly. Immaculate vibes. They recently moved locations to Queen West.
Prequel & Co.
- A new place that we haven’t visited yet but looks cool — it’s a cocktail bar modelled after a French apothecary in the 1890s.
The Junction
Blood Brothers Brewery
- A cool, unfussy brewery by the train tracks.
Lula Lounge
- Live music, salsa dancing, you’re in for a fun night out!
Paradise Grapevine Winery
- Second location of Judy’s favourite bar. They roast a whole chicken here that is so juicy and to die for! Geary Avenue overall is a cool street with lots of restaurants and shops to check out.

Bar Pompette
Bellwoods Brewery
- The best sour beer in the world is made here: THE JELLY KING. You gotta try it. It doesn’t have to be here, you can get it at many other bars in the city, but the brewery recently reno’d their restaurant and it’s a chic comfy space.
Bar Vendetta
Collective Arts
Grape Witches
- We love this groovy wine shop and bar that tries to educate people about natural wine. Such fun vibes on the patio. You don’t have to know anything wine, you can ask the nice staff a million questions without being afraid of looking dumb. Try to drink something weird and funky!
Northern Belle
Paris Paris
- Take a walk down the Ossington Strip and pop into the many bars and patios for many quick bites and sips. A prime place to people-watch, Paris Paris has got a fun, flirty, and airy atmosphere. The starters (oysters!!) are a perfect way to start an early summer evening. Try something new to drink, like when Judy ordered a Lambrusco (a sparkling red?? wine) for the first time ever.
Rhum Corner
- A favourite of a lot of locals! Haitian food and rum cocktails abound.
Ronnie’s Local 069
- A dive bar to end all dive bars. Don’t come here if you don’t want a dive bar.
East End
Broadview Hotel Rooftop Bar
A stunning 360 view of the city! Glamorous but not too expensive.
